THE LERWICK Fishermen’s Mission will be reliving last summer’s jaunt to the east
coast fishing ports of England with a reunion gathering next month.
As part of last year’s centenary celebrations, 22 Shetlanders visited Great
Yarmouth and Lowestoft and other places which played a key role in Shetland’s
fishing past.
The group will be rekindling its memories of the bus trip at 7.30pm, on 8
February, in Room 10, Islesburgh Community Centre.
The reunion will be open to everyone who joined the trip and to anyone who could
not make it, or who may be interested in joining such a journey in the future,
the possibilities of will be discussed at the meeting.
There will be a display of photographs and memorabilia and refreshments will be
served during the evening.
