FIVE Shetland teenagers have set off on the journey their lives as trainees on
board the fully rigged ship Christian Radich.
Eighteen year olds Ian Adamson, Hannah Mary Goodlad, Josh Sansom, Magnus Stout
and Shona Williamson left Liverpool docks along with 60 other trainees on the
first leg of the 2008 Tall Ships Race.
The first leg of the four port challenge will see the Christian Radich
and around 100 other sailing ships spend about 11 days rounding Scotland to
reach the Norwegian port of Måløy.
The ship will the head for Bergen before finishing the race at Den Helder, in
Holland.
