NORTHLINK Ferries is attracting business from new East European travel markets,
the northern isles ferry operator said yesterday (Tuesday).
Speaking after what was described as a successful presence at the VisitScotland
Expo in Aberdeen last week, the company's marketing projects manager Elaine
Tulloch said business had been brisk with lot of interest shown in NorthLink's
offering for 2009.
"It was noteworthy that a lot of the interest in bookings for 2009 was being
shown by operators from Eastern Europe - Hungary, Poland and so on - so that may
well prove to be a burgeoning new market for our holiday offering," she said.
The company also staged a reception and familiarisation trip on the ferry
Hrossey for 23 members of the UK and overseas travel trade.
