OIL tankers will have to pay eight per cent more when they use the port of
Sullom Voe, in Shetland, as of next financial year.
A meeting of the Shetland Islands Council's harbour board yesterday (Thursday)
approved the new charges to meet "increased cost of supplies and the viability
of the port".
Segregated ballast tankers visiting the port will have to pay £0.72 per gross
tonne as of April 2008.
