THE SCOTTISH Salmon Producers Organisation yesterday
(Wednesday) announced the appointment of Professor Phil Thomas as its new
chairman, replacing Michael Gibson CBE.
Professor Thomas is a biologist and registered nutritionist with a strong track
record in research, technology transfer, education, management and consultancy,
and has authored many publications.
He is chairman of the Code of Good Practice Management Group for Scottish
Finfish Aquaculture, and a board member of Quality Meat Scotland and Scottish
Natural Heritage.
He used to be principal and chief executive of the Scottish Agricultural
College.
