SEAFOOD businesses in Shetland could benefit from a £75,000 International Trade Support Fund organised by the Sea Fish Industry Authority.

Seafish said the fund was now open for competitive bids from companies engaged in the export and import of seafood. The fund also supports seafood market research.

Individual companies are able to apply for a maximum of £3,000 per project, whilst regional seafood groups and national trade bodies are eligible to bid for up to £30,000.

Seafish chief executive John Rutherford said: "The International Trade Support Fund aims to recognise and reward companies who are dedicated to good operational and environmental practices."

The closing date for all International Trade Support Fund applications is Thursday 29 May.
