LERWICK Port Authority is to build around 50 new car parking
spaces at the NorthLink ferry terminal to ease congestion.
Port authority chief executive Sandra Laurenson said that agreements with
neighbours SBS Logistics and LHD at the Holmsgarth terminal had now been reached
A new carpark to the left of the entry road to the terminal should be ready for
use by spring next year, she said.
Ever since the new terminal was built in 2002, car parking at Holmsgarth had
been tight with the port authority regularly appealing to islanders not to leave
their cars at the ferry terminal when travelling south.
